IZ31708: AUTOCONFIG DOSE NOT WORKS PROPERLY FOR INTRUSHIELD EVENTS.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When new events are sent to EAM, autoconfig utility create a new
"Generic syslog" sensor. When newly created sensor is modified
to reflect Intrushield device type for better correlation and
same events are sent again new "Generic syslog" gets created.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Lack of a regular expression to identify these events: an old
$eType method is used that is not valid post TSOM 3.1.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
packages:
TSOM 4.1 Device Rules Update Package : 2008/11/05

Note that TSOM device packages are cumulative and any package
published after 2008/11/05 will contain this fix as well.
