Error description

  • This problem has been reported on RAD 3.0 plus Fixpack 1. I have
tested this on Solaris platform but client claims to have seen
the same problem on Linux as well.

    Steps to replicate:

    -- Create a Service.
    -- Go to Edit Service
-- Under Rules tab select "Create ESDA Rule"
-- In the new ESDA Model Rule window that opens up go to
    Advanced and Edit Policy
--In the policy window in the "Functions" drop down menu select
"RadShell" and then click on the "Insert Action Function"
    button.
This gives me the following error:

    HTTP Status 500 -

    type Exception report
    message
description The server encountered an internal error () that
prevented it from fulfilling this request.

    nown Source)

note The full stack trace of the root cause is available in the
    Apache Tomcat/5.5.4 logs.

Local fix

  • Insert the action function manually in the policy window. The
format used for this action function is:

    RadShell('radShellCommand("parameter","parameter",...,"parameter
    ")');

The method getArgParms in RadShell.java didn't have three
parameters specified as required for the Impact policy editor.
The third parameter tells the policy editory the data type to
    be expected by the user
