Error description

  • The db2 agent log show SQL errors for SAMPLE database,

    SQLCODE      = -1013
    SQL1013N The database alias name or database name "SAMPLE"
    could not be found. SQLSTATE=42705
    SQLSTATE 42705: An undefined server-name was detected.

    Investigated and found the customer has 3 SAMPLE
    databases and all were aliased to a 3 different names to enable
    their development teams to access them individually.

    Apparently the other machine that the customer had been stating
    all along was setup the same way does not have aliased databases
    as on this machine. This explains why the other system work fine
    and this one does not.

    We requested customer run the command "db2 list db directory" to
    see the databases present on the system.

    Here is the output of that command,

    candle@ifmudb1t:/export/home/candle>db2 list db directory
