Error description

  • PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    
    When a notification sends HTML, the images do not display
    because the platform is stripping the tags for images.
    
    ENVIRONMENT:
    
    Platform 3.5.3
    Application 10.5.1
    
    
    STEPS TO REPLICATE:
    
    1) Create a notificaiton, and send this in the HTML Body:
    
    2: Note: When the notification is sent, the email strips the
    tag, and the image is not shown.  The Source properly renders in
    the notification as expected.

    Steps:
    
    3)Open Report Scheduler, set it to send an email.  In the body,
    click HTML and enter this:  Click Send Report(s)
    
    4) The email, does not display the image.
    
    5) Open the notificaiton and it does.

Problem summary

  • Need to add <img> to list of html tags allowed in outgoing
    email.
    

Problem conclusion

  • When the Platform sends outgoing mail, some HTML tags will be
    stripped from the message. The <img> tag is no longer one that
    is removed, so that you can send messages with images.
    This is targeted to the 1h2017 release as well as the 3.5.2.3
    fix pack.
