IV92427: EXPORTING TO EXCEL, COLUMN COUNTS APPEAR AND CAUSE ISSUES WITH PIVOT TABLES

Error description

  • Go to My Reports and select the report name triPeople - Filter
    - Active Users
    Run the report and export to Excel
    In Excel, highlight the blank fields, in the lower right hand
    corner, if you are using 3.5.0.3, you will not see a count.
    And if you are looking at 3.5.1.2, you will see a count.  This
    count that gets displayed, is throwing off pivot tables when
    they are created from an exported report.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Null data was being placed into the xlsx as an empty string ("")
    

Problem conclusion

  • The new formatting to Excel in xlsx format now handles
    blank/null data as it did before with the xls format.
    This is targeted to the 1h2017 release.
