IV90913: CRASH IN GC, VM, OR JIT COMPILED METHODS CONTAINING OBJECT ALLOCATION ON POWER PLATFORMS
Closed as program error.
Error Message: Typical symptoms are segmentation faults in JIT compiled methods or in the GC or VM modules, although crashes may occur in other modules that execute Java code or access Java objects. . Stack Trace: N/A .
The problem can be worked around using the -Xjit:disableAllocationInlining option. Using this option may moderately reduce performance.
JIT compiled methods that contain object allocations may be incorrectly compiled, causing a register to inadvertently be overwritten in certain cases, which can lead to crashes. This issue only affects POWER platforms.
The JIT compiler has been fixed to avoid the problem by correctly preserving the contents the register in question. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 7 R1 SR4 (220.127.116.11) 6 R1 SR8 FP40 (18.104.22.168) 7 SR10 (22.214.171.124) 8 SR4 (126.96.36.199) 6 SR16 FP40 (188.8.131.52) .
