  • Error Message: The customer will report reduced throughput when
running workloads making heavy use of the Java math libraries on
Java 8 when compared with Java 7.1.

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • In Java 8 the JIT optimizer was enhanced to better optimize
loops. These changes had a negative impact on on a subset of
very tight mathematical loops.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The JIT optimizer has been enhanced to improve the performance
of the math functions.

This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   8    SR3       (8.0.3.0)
