  This problem is specific to the zSeries code generator and
  therefore can only occur when running on the zOS or zLinux IBM
  JVM.

Problem summary

• The problem is caused when, as part of its optimizations, the
  JIT compiler incorrectly removes a bytecode from the compiler's
  intermediate language. While this operation was safe in some
  cases, it was still being performed in cases where it was not
  safe. This can cause a variety of problems, but the only known
  symptom is a segmentation error caused by accessing the stale
  version of an object which has been moved by the Garbage
  Collector.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JIT compiler has been updated to perform additional checks
  to make sure that the bytecode is only removed when it is safe
  to do so.
