Local fix
This issue can be worked around by adding Java option -Xjit:disableDecimalFormatPeephole
Problem summary
The crash happened when the JIT compiler was accessing an invalid field of a C++ object. This was because the JIT compiler expected the object to be a different type.
Problem conclusion
The JIT compiler has been updated to take the type of objects causing the crash into consideration and prevent the failure. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 7 R1 SR3 FP30 (7.1.3.30) 7 SR9 FP30 (7.0.9.30) 8 SR2 FP10 (8.0.2.10) 6 R1 SR8 FP20 (6.1.8.20) .
