• Error Message: JVMJ9VM015W Initialization error for library
  j9gc28(2): Failed to instantiate split heap: Required split heap
  memory geometry could not be allocated (new size 4M, old size
  12M)

  Failed only with 32-bit Java on Windows 8 with -Xmx16M
  

Local fix

• Try to use object heap larger then 16M.
  Do not use -Xgc:splitheap command line option
  

Problem summary

• An attempt to run Java with -Xgc:splitheap command line option
  (exists only for 32-bit Java for Windows) might fail if
  requested object heap size is small. This problem was observed
  on Windows 8 machines only
