Error description

  • WHEN RETRIEVING JOBOUTPUT OF AN ZCENTRIC AGENT OPERATION
VIA DIALOG OPTION 'L', RETRIEVAL FAILS WITH MESSAGES:

EQQHT39I EDC5147I Illegal byte sequence.
EQQM931W JOBLOG FOR WIPACCSM (9335    ) IN ERROR

Local fix

  • 1) stop the agent
2) export LC_CTYPE=en_US
3) verify running the command "locale" the value has been set
4) in the same shell where the value has been set, restart the
agent
with StartUpLwa

Problem summary

  • zcentric agent sends joblogs containg wrong characters if these
joblogs have been collected and then sent when the following
settings are in place

LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"

If the locale is UTF8, zCentric fails to convert some
characters, like à.

Problem conclusion

  • The APAR will be fixed in  TWS 9.2 fp04, TWS 9.3 fp04
