• Error Message: Failure symptom will be either a performance
  reduction with increased time spent in the instanceof codepaths
  or a segmentation error in the JIT compiler code generator while
  evaluating an instanceof operation on an abstract final class in
  the JCL.

Local fix

Problem summary

• Under certain circumstances the JIT code generator can produce
  slow or incorrect code when processing classes which are both
  abstract and final. These classes cannot be generated from user
  code - this combination can only appear on certain special core
  classes in the Java Class Library.
  

Problem conclusion

• The JIT code generators have been modified to ensure the code
  generator correctly handles abstract final classes.
