APAR status

• Closed as documentation error.

Error description

• The documented procedure to switch TWS's database vendor from
  DB2 to Oracle is missing information that causes the Dynamic
  Workload Broker application to fail to start.  Following the
  procedure results in missing DWB tables in Oracle.  Also, the
  configuration file <TWA dir>/TDWB/config/DAOCommonProperties is
  not updated with the oracle specifics.  Repeat connection
  attempts exhausts the maxConnections parameter for the
  datasource and results in thread hangs that make the WebSphere
  instance unusable.
  

Local fix

• Use the documented procedure "Creating or upgrading the
  database tables if you are using Oracle" to create the correct
  set of tables.  Also, manually update the file <TWA
  dir>/TDWB/config/DAOCommonProperties so that rdbmsName=oracle
  rather than db2 and all three *Schema= values are set to the
  oracle schema name for the TWS database.
  

Problem summary

• The documentaion does not write accurately that also the TWS
  Broker schema must be migrated, and the update of the
  DAOCommon.properties file
  See LOCAL FIX for further details.
  

Problem conclusion

• The TWS manuals will be changed to correctly fix the issue in
  the next Info ceter update for 8.6, 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3
