APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: An UnsatisfieldLinkError for ibmcac.dll is thrown
on Windows when using SecureRandom.SHA1PRNG and the JVM
encounters a problem loading the ibmcac.dll file.  This problem
can occur if the user has specified a java.library.path which
does not include the default library path.

Local fix

  • If the user has specified a java.library.path, ensure that it
includes the jre bin directory.

Problem summary

  • An UnsatisfieldLinkError for ibmcac.dll is thrown on Windows
when using SecureRandom.SHA1PRNG and the JVM encounters a
problem loading the ibmcac.dll file.

Problem conclusion

  • The SecureRandom.SHA1PRNG implementation has been enhanced to
recover if there is a problem loading ibmcac.dll.

This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   8    SR2       (8.0.2.0)
