Error description
Error Message: N/A . Stack Trace: N/A . This issue may arise only when the JIT is enabled and the method attempting to do the conversion between big endian and little endian is JIT compiled.
Local fix
This issue can be worked around using the -Xjit:disableLocalCSE option. Note however that the use of this option may impact performance.
Problem summary
The problem is caused when the JIT incorrectly copy propagates a reverse load into an ordinary load thereby avoiding the conversion between big endian and little endian.
Problem conclusion
The JIT has been updated to prevent copy propagating reverse loads or stores which avoids the original issue. . This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases: 8 SR2 (8.0.2.0) 7 R1 SR3 FP20 (7.1.3.20) . Contact your IBM Product's Service Team for these Service Refreshes and Fix Packs. For those running stand-alone, information about the available Service Refreshes and Fix Packs can be found at: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/
