Problem summary

• The JIT occasionally performed an incorrect optimization on a
  program having logic that does different typecasts on the same
  object to different array types on different paths within a
  loop.  In such programs, the Loop Alias Refiner optimization
  could transform the loop in such a way that it used the wrong
  array types on some paths.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Loop Alias Refiner optimization was fixed to detect the
  problematic situation and avoid performing the incorrect
  transformation.  The problem was introduced in Java 8 GA and has
  been fixed in Java 8 SR2.
