Error description

  • The Object Server password can not contain special characters,
    when installing Impact V7.1.0.1, received this error:
    =====> IBM Installation Manager> Error
    
    ERROR: Errors occurred.
    
    Reason: IMPACTIN0152E The Object Server password can not contain
    special characters. The following characters are allowed:
    
    ()0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
    abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz_-.
    

Local fix

  • Install Impact either using Local File Base user and then
    configure your Impact Server to using Omnibus authentication,
    as a post-installation step, using the "confAuth4OMNIbus". This
    will then allow you to use an Omnibus user that has a @ or
    other special characters besides just these:
    
    ()0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
    abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz_-.
    
    Or install your Impact Server to using Omnibus authentication,
    with a password that contains no special character (as shown
    above).

    Add to the 'Configuring the user registry' section that the
    object server password cannot contain special characters during
    install of Impact 71. If password needs special characters, one
    needs to install Impact using local file-based user and then
    needs to configure the Impact Server to use Netcool/OMNIbus
    ObjectServer User Authentication as a post-installation step.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The 'Configuring the user registry' section of the
    Administration Guide will be updated in the next release of the
    Impact 710 publications.
