APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: The JVM crashes with a Floation Point error ABEND
in a method which has a call to
com/ibm/dataaccess/DecimalData.convertPackedDecimalToInteger.
.
Stack Trace: N/A
.
The problem only happens when the parameters passed to the call
to com/ibm/dataaccess/DecimalData.convertPackedDecimalToInteger
will raise an exception.

Local fix

  • This issue can be worked around using the
-Xjit:disableIntrinsics option. Note however that the addition
of this option may degrade performance.

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused when the accelerated fallback path of the
Data Access Accelerator API is out of range of a branch
instruction.

Problem conclusion

  • The JIT Compiler has been patched to prevent the crash from
occurring.

This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   7 R1 SR3       (7.1.3.0)
