APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: Some applications showed a 15-33% regression
compared with earlier Java releases. Verbose log shows
compilationExcessiveComplexity failure on some of the hottest
methods.

Stack Trace: N/A

This regression is seen on all platform (x,p,z).

Local fix

  • The issue can be worked around using the
-Xjit:disableLoopVersioner option.

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused when optimizer reaches number of loops
limit. If the limit is reached, JIT will abort the current
compilation and try to recompile the method at a lower
optimization level.

Problem conclusion

  • Number of loops limit has been increased for veryhot/scorching
methods to prevent this issue.

   8    SR1       (8.0.1.0)
