IV72018: CRASH IN SOCKET IO CALLS IN IBM JAVA 7, JAVA 727 AND JAVA 8

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Error Message: A SIGSEGV/GPF is received when one of the
  application thread is doing native level network related
  operations.
  .
  Stack Trace: Java stack shows socket operations while native
  stack will be like below#11 <signal handler called>#12

  ./fs-vtu2009/scc/jre/lib/amd64/compressedrefs/libj9vm26.so#13

Local fix

Problem summary

• The problem occurs when there is a socket exception arises.
  While collecting additional diagnostic information during Socket
  exceptions, networking code happens to pass some illegal
  arguments (due to some Runtime errors) to JVM resulting in the
  crash.
  

Problem conclusion

• We enforced validations to ensure that JVM calls are made with
  appropriate parameters.

     8    SR1 FP10  (8.0.1.10)
