Error description

  • I met with one of the Scheduler Product Architects who said I
    should enter this APAR.

In WOTrack if you un-assign an Assignment (by clearing the
Labor field) it also clears out the Scheduled Start date field.
This makes sense as the Assignment is no longer scheduled so
it should not have a date.

In Graphical Assignment when you un-assign an Assignment by
dragging it's green bar from the Labor name row up to the Craft
row so it turns orange again, the Scheduled Start date is not
cleared. You can see this by going to the Assignments tab in
WOTrack and even though the Labor field is empty the Scheduled
    Start date is not empty.

This causes problems in GA as the Assignment can now be at a
    different date than it's WO.

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Create a new WO with a Duration of 8 and give it any Craft
for a Planned Labor row on the Plans tab. Save. Check the
Assignment row on the Assignments tab to see that the
Assignment's Scheduled Start date is empty.
    2. Go to the Calendars application and extend the Finish of the
Day calendar to the end of the year if necessary. Save. If
you had to extend the Finish, you must now use the Select
Action menu picking Define/Apply Shifts. Check the box in
front of DAY and click on Apply Shifts. Apply it to the full
    calendar and click OK.
    3. Go to the Labor application and make sure at least one of
the Labors belonging to the Craft in Step 1 is on the Day
    Calendar and Day Shift.
    4. Go to GA and create a new Work List.
    5. Give it Day Calendar and Day Shift.
    6. In the Work Queries Section add a New Row and give it a
where condition to pick the WO created in Step 1, such as:
      wonum = 'the wonum"
    7. Save.
    8. Click on the Gantt View tab.
    9. If the Resource section at the bottom is grey and a message
says to click a tab, click on the Resource Schedule tab to see
the Crafts and the Labor codes.
10, You will see the Assignment created in Step 1 as an orange
colored bar on the same row as the Craft.
    11. Put the mouse cursor on the orange bar and press and hold
    the left mouse button.
    12. Drag it down to the one of the Labor rows and release the
mouse button. The bar will now be green. If you go to
WOTrack you will see that the Labor and the Scheduled Start
Date fields are now filled in on the Assignments tab.
    13. Now put the cursor back on the green bar and drag it back
up to the Craft row and release it. It will turn back to
orange, the color it is when not assigned.

Look at the Assignments tab in WOTrack and you will see that
while the Labor field has been cleared, the Scheduled start
date has not been cleared. This is the problem. With it
populated like this you can move the WO's dates in Scheduler
but back in GA it is the Assignment's date that matters and it
is stuck on the old meaningless date, not the date you decided
on when you moved it in the Scheduler.
