Problem summary

• The problem is caused by the JIT compiler omitting a memory
  barrier instruction during the escape analysis optimization;
  the instruction is required as the POWER architecture has
  weakly-ordered memory consistency.
  

Problem conclusion

• The escape analysis is updated to correctly insert the memory
  barrier instruction.
