Local fix

  • On Linux systems with 2 cores or less (where this regression is
observed), using the command line option -XcompilationThreads1
may eliminate part or all of the regression.

Problem summary

  • For some workloads, a small (1-2%) throughput regression can be
observed when running Java SDK 7.1 on Linux systems with 2 cores
or less.

Problem conclusion

  • The JIT compiler code has been changed to eliminate the
regression.

This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   7 R1 SR2       (7.1.2.0)
