Local fix

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused when a live connection with AIX socket is
terminated with a TCP RST signal. AIX implementation is such
that the socket resources in the kernel layer are cleared up by
the kernel upon receiving the RST. This error is converted into
an unexpected SocketException which is not handled properly by
the JCL code and wrapped in an Error.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
       7 SR8 FP10 (7.0.8.10)
       7 R1 SR2 FP10 (7.1.2.10)

The JDK has been updated to reaturn a null instead of
    throwing SocketException.
