APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: JIT compiler crashes during compilation in Full
Speed Debug Mode with a GPF/SIGSEGV
.
Stack Trace: varies
.

Local fix

  • This issue can be worked around using the -Xjit:disableOSR
option. This may cause a performance degredation in full speed
debug mode.

Problem summary

  • The problem can only occur when executing a program in Full
Speed Debug mode in IBM Java 7.1 and higher. The problem is the
result of an incorrect manipulation of the program
representation in the JIT compiler resulting in a crash.

Problem conclusion

  • The JIT has been modified so that the internal representation is
correctly manipulated.

This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   7 R1 SR2       (7.1.2.0)
