APAR status

Error description

  • Error Message: The following messages are written inside the
    javacore dump:3XMTHREADINFO3           No native callstack
    available on this platform1XMWLKTHDERR   The following was
    reported while collecting native stacks:2XMWLKTHDERR
    memory allocation failure(1, 1)
    .
    Stack Trace: N/A
    .
    Native stack traces were added to javacore dumps for Windows 64
    in Java 7.1 GA. However, on Windows 7 and later, for javacores
    generated via user signal (Crl-Break), the native stack
    collection fails.
    

Local fix

  • Native stack traces can be obtained from system dumps, using
    windbg or jdmpview tools to view the dump.
    

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused by incorrect use of a Windows API in the
    signal handler thread.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
       7 R1 SR1 FP1    (7.1.1.1)
    .
    The JVM for Windows 64 has been updated to collect native stacks
    correctly.
