APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When the UPDATESTATS job performs the Preproduction plan
extension (instead of MAKEPLAN), then it ABENDs.
When this happen is triggered by the optman ls values maxLen and
minLen. with default values (and daily planning) this usually
occurs every 1-2 weeks.

Local fix

  • Ignore the ABENd, and await the next day MAKEPLAN to complete
the Preproduction plan extension.

Problem summary

  • The preproduction plan extension (when performed by UPDATESTATS
and not by MAKEPLAN) could fail, depending on the value of the
optman values minlen and maxlen.

Problem conclusion

  • A missing check in the code caused that the plan extension made
by UPDATESTATS could fail, because is ting to check if the TWS
DB is locked, but it has already been unlocked.

Temporary fix

  • None: wait for the Preproduction Plan extension that will be
made by the MAKEPLAN the next day
