Local fix

  • Disable JIT for the specific large method(s) or disable JIT
    completely.
    

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused when the JIT compiles very large methods
    under S390 and consumes an internal resource during code
    generator (higher probability to hit it under balanced GC mode).
    

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
       7 R1 SR1       (7.1.1.0)
    .
    The JIT was updated to throw OOM and print a relevant message
    when problem occurs.
