Error description

  • Error Message: GPF or other undefined behaviour occurs when
invoking a MethodHandle throws an internal exception.

Local fix

  • This issue can be worked around by disallowing java stack growth
(i.e. by setting -Xiss and -Xss to the same value).

Problem summary

  • JVM may crash if JSR292 MethodHandle throws an exception which
causes the java stack to grow.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
   7    SR7       (7.0.7.0)
   7 R1 SR1       (7.1.1.0)
.
JVM updated to prevent crash.
