Error description

  • ENVIRONMENT: Linux x86_64 - TWS 8.6 dynamic agent.
After applying TWS 8.6 FP3 to a dynamic agent jobs are failing
with the following messages in the out.log file:
*** glibc detected *** /opt/tws/IBM/TWA/TWS/bin/taskLauncher:
free(): invalid pointer: 0x00002ab6c1557000 ***
*** glibc detected *** /opt/tws/IBM/TWA/TWS/bin/taskLauncher:
corrupted double-linked list: 0x0000000010dec960 ***

Problem summary

  • Occasionally jobs for dynamic agent fails on Unix: the jib is
not really started, the tasklaucher process crashes before
spawning the job process, leaving the father tasklauncher
process without any son to wait.
It is due to a trace entry that has been wrongly added while
tasklauncher process is starting the new job. It happens on TWS
86 FP03 only.

Problem conclusion

  • Thi apar will be fixed in TWS 8.6 FP04
