Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • The synchronization in TimeZone.getDefaultInAppContext() is
    limited through APAR IV28205 to reduce the performance overhead
    due to excessive synchronization. However, this is not good
    enough for certain application which extensively access the
    default TimeZone.

Problem conclusion

  • This APAR will be fixed in the following Java Releases:
       6.0.0 SR15 FP1
       6.0.1 SR7 FP1
       7.0.0 SR6 FP1
       7.0.1 SR1
    .
    The JDK is updated to avoid the synchronization in
    TimeZone.getDefaultInAppContext().
