Error description

  • Error Message: java.nio.charset.UnsupportedCharsetException:
    IBM5026
            at java.nio.charset.Charset.forName(Charset.java:546)
    .
    Stack Trace: N/A
    .
In Java 5, ibm####, cp####, or #### are accepted as alias name
of ibm-#### charset. However, in Java 6 those values are not
accepted as alias for some charsets. For example, IBM-5026,
    IBM-5035, IBM-5050, etc.

Local fix

  • Use IBM-#### instead of using ibm####, cp####, or ####

Problem summary

  • Some of the alias name definitions are missing for the charsets
    which reported the failure.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.0 SR16
    6.0.1 SR8
    7.0.0 SR7
    7.1.0 SR1
    .
The JDK has been updated to ensure all charsets have all the
supported alias names like cpxxxx, ibmxxxx, ibm-xxxx and xxxx.
