Local fix

  • -Xjit:disableGlobalCopyPropagation will turn off the JIT
optimization that erroneously propagates a value into code
reachable from a catch block.

Problem summary

  • The global copy propagation optimization was incorrectly
propagating a value to a use that had two definitions when
exception edges were considered.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
6.0.0 SR15
6.0.1 SR7
7.0.0 SR6
5.0.0 SR16 FP4
.
Global copy propagation was updated to become more conservative
in cases with more than one definition.
