Error description

  • Error Message: On 64-bit Windows, if the Java VM crashes, in
    some cases it does not create a system dump. Instead, the
    program terminates with a standard Windows dialog containing the
    message
    "Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working"
    .

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The Java VM signal processing on 64-bit Windows gives priority
    to the operating system signal handling over the VM's internal
    handlers.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    6.0.1 SR7
    7.0.0 SR6
    .
    The VM signal processing is changed to give priority to the VM's
    internal handlers.
