Local fix

Problem summary

  • If the JVM application is very large, the JIT may try to compile
very many methods exceeding the limit imposed on total code
cache space. When that happens the compilation activity stops
and methods that couldn't be fit into the code caches continue
to run as interpreted. Depending on how many many are forced to
continue execution as interpreted and how often they are
executed performance can suffer to various degrees.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    7.0.0 SR6
    6.0.1 SR7
    6.0.0 SR15
    .
The JVM provided an option to allow users to increase the limit
imposed on total code cache space: -Xcodecachetotal<NNN>
