    When analyzing a system dump from a JVM on Windows 32-bit, the
    jdmpview 'info thread' command fails to print a complete native
    stack trace. For example:
       native stack frames:

Local fix

  • Use windbg with the SDK libraries and .pdb files to obtain more
    complete native stack traces from the system dump.
    

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused by compiler optimisations which remove
    information needed to print complete native stacks.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    7.0.0 SR6
    6.0.1 SR7
    .
    The Windows 32-bit JVM has been updated to allow jdmpview to
    print more complete native stacks.
