    Four Byte GB18030 chinese characters are not processed properly
    by Java in the Simplified Chinese Environment on Windows and
    those characters are displayed as '????'instead of proper
    chinese characters  in the output text file. Java is unable to
    get GB18030 characters even if the user changes the code page to
    54936 by chcp command on console (command prompt).
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • On the Simplified Chinese Environment,only native encoding data
    is processed and hence the GB18030 chinese characters are not
    displayed properly.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    7.0.0 SR6
    .
    The JVM has been updated to make Java to read GB18030 data
    properly on the Simplified Chinese Environment.
