APAR status

Error description

  • Error Message: The awt_GetComponent() function from libmawt.so
    crashes with a segmentation violation.
    .
    Stack Trace: The awt_GetComponent() function is a part of the
    AWT native interface and will be directly called from native
    code of a GUI application. The native stack will hence look
    like:
    awt_GetComponent+0x5d (0x0056D04D <OSB>libmawt.so+0x3b04d<CSB>)
    <OSB>One or more native functions<CSB>
    <OSB>A JNI function<CSB>

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The crash occurs due to the use of a null object address while
    retrieving a Java Component related to a native window handler.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    7.0.0 SR6
    .
    The null object address has been eliminated by putting the
    necessary initialization in place.
