Error description
Error Message: Unhandled exception Type=Floating point error vmState=0x00000000 J9Generic_Signal_Number=00000020 Signal_Number=00000008 Error_Value=00000000 Signal_Code=00000000 ... Local fix
This issue can be worked around with the JVM option -Xjit:noResumableTrapHandler. The use of this option may result in performance degradation of up to 5%.
Problem summary
The problem is caused by incorrect generation of compare and trap instructions for arraycopy related bound checks. The JIT signal handler fails to recognize the trap error condition when the bound checks fail, resulting in the floating point error.
Problem conclusion
This defect will be fixed in: 7.0.0 SR6 6.0.1 SR7 . The JIT compiler has been updated to generate the proper compare and trap instruction sequence.
