Error description

  • Error Message: N/A
    .
    Stack Trace: N/A
    .
An ArrayStoreException should be thrown when a Java program
attempts to store the wrong type of object into an array of
objects. In some situations, a JIT-compiled method does not
throw this exception when it should.

Local fix

  • This problem can be avoided by setting the JVM option
-Xjit:exclude={full method name} for the method that is causing
the issue. This may cause some performance degradation.

Problem summary

  • The problem is caused by the JIT compiler making assumptions
that ignore the possibility of a redefinition of the
java/lang/Object class (by a JVMTI agent).

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
    7.0.0 SR5
    6.0.1 SR6
    6.0.0 SR14
    .
The JIT compiler has been updated to handle the redefinition of
java/lang/Object appropriately, so that all illegal stores to an
    array will throw the exception.
