Error description

  • Error Message: When an AIX core dump is created it is truncated
    to exactly 2Gb which is smaller than expected.

    Stack Trace: N/A
    .
    Attempting to create any file larger than 2Gb on the same file
    system fails.
    

Local fix

  • This problem can be worked around by using the -Xdump command
    line options to move the dump location to another file system
    that supports files larger than 2Gb.
    

Problem summary

  • A truncated core file can be caused by using a file system that
    doesn't support files larger than 2Gb. The dump location can be
    changed with the -Xdump option or the file system type can be
    changed.
