IV43134: SERVICE ITEM UPDATE TRIGGERS BOTH MXITEM AND MXSERVITEM INTERFACES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A Service Item insert / update triggers both MXITEM and
  MXSERVITEM
  interfaces.
  
  In Maximo 7119 this did not happen
  
  
  Steps to replicate
  
  Enable listerners for MXITEMInterface and MXSERVITEMInterface
  Publish
  Channels.
  
  Make sure EXTSYS1 System is enabled
  
  Make sure EXTSYS1 Endpoint is MXXMLFILE
  
  
  Go to > Inventory > Service Items > Filter by "ELEV"
  
  Change the Description value and save
  
  Now, two XML files will be created under the [Integration GLobal
  Dir]\xmlfiles.  One for each Interface.
  
  In fact, the SERVICEITEMS  object is a persistent view of ITEMS
  object.
  It seems the Service Item updates is triggering the ITEMS
  service and
  leading to a new outbound message
  
  
  An easy workaround is to create a SKIP rule in the
  MXITEMInterface to
  skip transactions based on the ITEM Type.
