Error description

  • The icon indicating the start center is loading the data
    will never disappear.

    STEPS TO RECREATE:
    1) Sign in to Maximo with maxadmin.

    2) From "Go To"-"Work Orders"-"Work Order Tracking", select
"Advanced Search"-"More Search Fields" on the List tab.

    3) On "More Search Fields|Current Query:" window, specify
    the following values.

    Status : =In Progress, =Completed
    Site : =BEDFORD
    History? : No
    Priority : 1
    Is Task? : No

    Then click "Find".

    4) Verify that Work Orders which match the specified search
condition will be listed. At this stage, in order to recreate
the problem, the number of "In Progress" work order must be
as same as the number of "Completed" work order on the List
    tab.

During my test scenario, there are 2 Work Orders with
"Completed" status and 2 Work Orders with "In Progress"
    status on the List tab.

    5) Click "Save Query" and specify the following values on
    "Save Current Query" window.

    QUERY NAME : PMR38794
    Description : PMR38794
    Public? : checked

    6) Go to Start Center, click "Change Content/Layout" and
click "Select Content" for the right column.

    7) On "Available Portlets" window, select "Result Set"
and click OK. Then click "Finished".

    8) Click "Edit Portlet" icon for the added result set table.

    9) On "Available Queries" tab, select the Query "PMR38794".

    10) On "Columns Display" tab, select "STATUS" and
    "STATUSDATE".

    11) On "Chart Options" tab, specify the following values.

Show Chart by Default? : Checked
    Chart Type : circle graph
    Display By : STATUS

    Then click "Save" and "Finished".

    12) After that, you will be able to see the icon
indicating the start center is loading the data and
it will never disappear. This is the problem.

The problem is recreated in L2 7.5.0.3 test environment.

Local fix

  • The problem does not happen if the number of "In Progress"
work order is different from the number of "Completed"
work order on the List tab at step 4) above.
