After installing IF23 for a previous issue, the customer was facing issue with the alarms. The issue was that Alarm functions in Alarm tabs were not accessible. The customer resolved this issue by enabling HTTPS support was was related to IF23. But then after enabling HTTPS support, while installing any techpack the customer was getting a message [applyTechPacks] WARNING: Failed to apply loadmap UMTS_Ericsson_SGSN_2009B. Execute $WMCROOT/bin/lcm_admin to apply loadmaps. On applying the loadmap manually they are hitting the following error [Tue Jan 29 15:22:13 BRST 2013] [INFO] [com.vallent.virtuo] [New logger implementation [SYSTEM_OUT,INFO] - from supplied properties] java.net.SocketException: Unexpected end of file from server at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.parseHTTPHeader(HttpClient.java:770) ... at com.adc.metrica.dbloader.editor.commands.LcmEditorController.mai n (LcmEditorController.java:217) [Tue Jan 29 15:22:14 BRST 2013] [ERROR] [com.vallent.virtuo] [com.adc. metrica.cs.util.MetricaBusinessException: Could not read file datasource_ericsson_umts_sgsn_2009b.xml] [Tue Jan 29 15:22:14 BRST 2013] [ERROR] [com.vallent.virtuo] [Check the log file for more information: /appl/virtuo/logs/lcm/lcm-server.log] --<snip>-- The issue has been reproduced successfully after installing all the patches and enabling https support I hit the same error on the my machine. ROOT CAUSE It look like the issue is with some security patch sun has released 1.5.x onwards, so when enabling the https service on the app server it is failed to locate the dataloadmap.xml file daring xml parsing. It is possible that parser is not able to resolve the URI for xml file.
No other workaorund other than disabling the https support and then installing the techpack, but doing that causes the Alarm issue wherin the alarm tabs are not visible
