• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Error Message: A SIGSEGV or 0C4 ABEND is raised in a
  JIT-compiled method, or in a function of the JIT module that is
  called by JIT-compiled code. Analysis of the JIT-compiled code
  shows that an incorrect value has been loaded into a register
  with the ICM (insert character under mask) instruction.

Local fix

• This issue can be worked around by excluding the problematic
  method from JIT compilation, with the following option:
  -Xjit:exclude={com/ibm/db2/jcc/t2zos/T2zosPreparedStatement.a*}
  

Problem summary

• The problem is caused by the incorrect use of a peephole
  optimization that exploits the ICM instruction. This problem
  only affects JVMs on System z.
  

Problem conclusion

• This defect will be fixed in:
  6.0.0 SR14
  5.0.0 SR16 FP3
  6.0.1 SR6
  7.0.0 SR5
  .
  The JIT compiler has been updated to make the necessary checks
  before applying the optimization.
