APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Error Message: 1. Change the umask
>umask -S 027
2. Generate log files
>java -Xdump:snap:events=vmstop -version
3. Check file permissions
>ls -lrt
-rw-r--r--  1 root root    50416 Feb 11 14:36

Snap file permissions are incorrect.

Local fix

  • -Xdump:snap:none disables generation of Snap files.

Problem summary

  • The JVM trace engine was not respecting the current umask
settings.

Problem conclusion

  • This defect will be fixed in:
6.0.0 SR14
6.0.1 SR6
7.0.0 SR5
.
The JVM trace engine has been updated to respect the current
umask settings.
