APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • CU request to disable unnecessary generation of core during
    exception in task termination

Local fix

  • Wait for L3 team to create fix.

Problem summary

  • If a CICS Application server process recieves an
external exception during task termination, then a core and
ShowProcInfo of the process will be generated. This may lead to
    many cores being generated unnecessarily.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been fixed, and now only ShowProInfo of the
process will be created. The core generation will now occur only
if CICS_CORE_ON_ABNORMALTERMINATION is set in the environment.

A formal fix has been supplied to customer, and it will be
included in all future releases of TXSeries.
