Error description

  • Impact under TBSM 6.1 has the ability to accept and process
    requests on
either the primary or secondary. However our Impact policies
    contain
radshell function calls and radshell will not run on the
    secondary data
server while primary is still active. Need a method to run
    radshell on
secondary or only have the primary Impact Server accept and
    process
    requests. Thank you.

Local fix

  • After trying to recreate this issue on our lab BofA system and
    looking
at the logs from your cert system, it looks like this property
    is not
working in TBSM 61. When this property -
impact.server.eventprocessor.standby=true - is in the props
    file, the
impact instance on the secondary fails to start and hence you
    are not
seeing any updates to the eventprocessor logs and also no change
    in the
GUI. In TBSM 61, there is a new function called TBSMShell (as
    you are
aware). But there is also another function in 61 called
RemoteTBSMShell("<command>") which makes a call to the
    nameserver to see
where the primary TBSM server is running and it then executes
    the
radshell command on that primary server. After talking to dev,
    this
seems to be the function one needs to use if one has failover
    and a
policy that makes radshell calls. Please use
    RemoteTBSMShell("<command>") instead of TBSMShell("<command>")
    in the
    policy.

In a failover environment, customers need to use RemoteTBSMShell
function in policies to make radshell calls. This function will
be added to the TBSM Customization Guide.
