Error description

  • MIB Manager (bundled with OMNIbus 7.4 GA) takes a few minutes to
    bring up MIB/Device Association window after clicking on "Create
    Device" button and during this time, UNIX "top" command shows
    MIB Manager using 100% CPU time.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Start MIB Manager e.g. nco_mibmanager
    2) Under MIB Modules tab, select a module and click on "Create
    Device" button. (Note that the tab may need to be enlarged in
    order to see the button)
    3) Run UNIX "top" command to view the CPU usage

Local fix

  • As a workaround the customer should edit the file:

    $NCHOME/omnibus/platform/<arch>/mibmanager/workspace/enterprises
    .xml

    or, if on a 64bit system:

    $NCHOME/omnibus/platform/<arch>/mibmanager64/workspace/enterpris
    es.xml

    and replace the contents of that file with:

     <?xml version="1.0"
    encoding="iso-8859-1"?><EnterpriseList></EnterpriseList>

    This will result in the customer having to enter the name of the
    enterprise in the MIB/Device Assoc. window rather than selecting
    from a list but the window should now open instantaneously.
