APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• BIRT reports that contain UTF-8 characters show an error message
  when viewed on WSRR Server.
  
  The error message is:
  "/ServiceRegistryBIRTReport/render/*.rptdesign does not exist or
  contains errors."
  
  This error only occurs when a report is being viewed on WSRR
  Server, it does not occur when viewing the report in WSRR
  Studio.

Problem summary

  All users of WebSphere Service Registry and Repository v7.5
  and v8.0
  
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  The encoding type of the report render servlet was not
  explicitly set. This resulted in it defaulting to some value
  which was not always UTF-8. If UTF-8 reports are rendered in
  WSRR they are passed through this servlet and they could get
  corrupted because the encoding was incorrect.
  

Problem conclusion

• We now explicitly set the encoding of the report render
  servlet to UTF-8.
  
  This fix is planned for WSRR fix pack 8.0.0.2
